SHIMA ARASHI AIKIDO

Shima Arashi Aikido is taught from Osprey Leisure Centre on Portland in Dorset, a great seaside location indeed for some excellent outdoor Buki Waza (weapons) Training in the warmer months.

The Aikido taught at the Shima Arashi Budokan is committed to preserving the teachings of O'Sensei and keeping the teaching of the art to its traditional roots and ways.

The Dojo (Training area) is very well equipped and can cope with a good number of students at any one time.

Shima Arashi Aikido is a committed non-profit school and has been helped and funded with deepest thanks by:

INSTRUCTOR

Sensei Jason Bird

head instructor of Shima Arashi Aikido is committed to keeping a realistic element to the way he teaches and forging striving and courage in all he teaches. His most enjoyable part of training is the basics, as without this you have nothing, also Buki Waza. One philosophy he likes to go by is:

"Renew yourself time and time again"

Still very active in the security industry, Sensei Bird has had his fair share of knocks and rather sticky situations, all this helps to make for a good training experience for every student.
